| Does anyone think the Simpsons should actually age and they should change as people? eg: Maggie learning to talk, Bart getting married Lisa going to college and Homer and Marge plain getting older say homer retiring? well i think it would be interesting to see. Let me know what you guys think. | |

| no!!!!!! old nickelodeon shows like Doug & the Rugrats did that, & i'm pretty sure they're off the air now. if the Simpsons aged, no one would watch it! | |

| Besides, Mr. Burns would probably die if they did that. And that's something none of us wants happening. | |

| I say they shouldn't.
This is solely because they haven't done it for 21 years - now is not exactly a good time to start. People would catch on and say something on the line of "zomg why dey getin older", and ratings would plummet. Admittedly there would be some interesting jokes about how they didn't age for 21 years but started all of a sudden.
On the other hand, an animated show that utilitzed aging from a plot point could be pretty interesting, or at least a useful counterfoil to the average animated show. | |

| I would have to agree with mostly everyone else here. id be wierd seeing them suddenly age after being stuck in an endless age loop for so long. | |

| Yeah. Definitly no aging. Maybe another future episode though. You know in Lisa's Wedding it said that we would have flying cars and cool things by now. | |

| Agreed I wouldn't mind a special or something where they age, but I dont think it will happen. It's already been done for Bart twice and Lisa, and I don't think they would do an episode that would require many speaking roles for Maggie. It would be a horrible idea to just have them start aging out of nowhere. | |

| Agreed. The only time I've heard Maggie speak without an alien voice was in season four, which means they're probably not planning for her to speak again any time soon. | |

| Yeah, if they age then a bunch of people will stop watching. The show's rankings would go downhill fast, people would stop caring, and it would soon be cancelled. And we don't want that, do we? I hope we can keep it going at least into the 29th season, because then it would surpass GunSmoke in the number of episodes, and come out on the complete top. It's the longest running show on TV for now though. Woohoo! | |

| If they did that it would ruin the show. | |
